Be Kind Rewind

1. Casting; Do the actors suit the roles that they were cast in? Are they believable as part of the reality they are in?
a. Jack Black as Jerry Gerber
b. Mos Def as Mike
c. Danny Glover as Elroy Fletcher

Yes, I think the actors were well casted, because Jerry Gerber acted as the responsible one and Jack Black was the carefree character. And I can honestly say that I believed them to be the characters they played.

2. How does technology impact the community at the beginning of the film? At the end of this film?

You saw how little technologies they used in the video store and how it changed once they made their own movies. With the different projectors and t.v.'s.

Media of The Future

Samsung Restore: An Eco-Friendly Phone, is coming out this summer and will be the new sensation in eco-friendly phones, because of the fact that it has all the technology needed that is found on all other phones. We are so scared of the what the world's becoming, everyone is looking for new ways to be eco-friendly and this is a perfect way to do it, because so many people are getting cell phones earlier on in their lives. This product will be great for the environment and will give us insight on how many things can be changed for the better. I hope that everyone can follow in the foot steps of the buyers of this product, because I know I will.

Buffalo Bill

1. Give at least 3 examples where the lines between reality and entertainment became blurred during the life of William Cody.

William Cody became so caught up in the acting business that his real life became unimportant to him. On the sets of the show natives lived in tipis, which made everything seem even more real. Because he was always away from his family his job seemed to be his real life and his real life was rarely part of his reality.

2. What reason do we have to call Buffalo Bill the original world celebrity?

Buffalo Bill started every thing that was movie like, his shows were so shockingly new to everyone, that he pretty much invented the new way of entertainment.

3. How could Buffalo Bill have benefited from new media? Who would have been some of his facebook friends?

His facebook friends would probably have been very well known directors of our time, all famous people would have known him personally, because if he did have the media that we have today then he would have made very great things happen.

Video Game Response

1. If I were to place myself in the video game culrure, I would say I am a rare participant. The most video games I play, are on my nintendo sixty four, and evern at that it's very rare that I play.

2. In general I believe video games to be fun however, I am not very interested in them. Some video games can be violent but like on Ted Talks, it was said that are many video games that sent out good messages and some times even teach the player.

3. Our culture is getting more and more into video games, and sometimes can have the wrong impression on the violent games, and take them seriously. But because, video games have such a big impact on its players, more video games with meaning and skill will be produced and consumed.

Web Site Review

Youtube's site is user friendly, I think the layout is plain and simple, and that the information is short and sweet. The background might be white, but I think it brings out the information more. I don't really think the rule of thirds applies however, the fact that the writing is on the left hand side keeps interest. I like the fact that whenever searching for clips, other options that relate to what your searching pop up to give you new ideas. I can't really find any cons about this site, then againg I don't go on it that often.

Victoria Secret's site is also user friendly, it's bright with colors according to the holidays coming up. With valentine's day coming up, most of their ads have red and pink in them. The rule of thirds is used in the ad at the top of the page. In one hot spot, the girls breasts show to keep interest of the viewer, which is making women seem inferior, this is one thing about the site that I don't like. Other then that I think it is a good site. I can't really think of any other reasons why these sites would be bad, because all site like everything else have pros and cons.

The Trueman Show

1.Have we reached this point in our entertainment "experience"?
Many entertainement experiences are now over exagsagerated, and fake. I don't think that anyone would go to the length of useing a persons life without them knowing as a reality series however, things are becomeing more unrealistic and people are entertained by it.

2.With films like Avitar -using completely created characters -3D animation, is there a point where we cannot believe?
I think in some way we will always be able to tell the difference between real and unreal. The thing is we become allured to fantasy, and fiction because we sometimes like to get away from our mundane lives, and experience something completely new, a life of adventure and thrill.

3.Is Truman's whole world fake or real? Is what Christof says true or is he justifying the world that he created?
Tuman's whole world is fake, because everyone in his life is being paid to act as his parents, wife, friends, neighbors etc... Everyone he comes in contact with works for the Truman Show, and are speaking someone elses words. I believe that what Christof says is only to justify the world he created, because it is impossible for someone to feel absolutely no guilt for doing something like Christof did to Truman.

Impact of social media

1. What is a media persona?

A media persona is when one is conscious of his/her actions, for the reasons that they are afraid of showing their true self, because it can be caught on tape and can be posted anywhere, which can potentially ruin their carrier, relationships or reputation.

2.How does social media fit into the proffesional world?

Social media now plays a big part in the proffesional world, because so many people have facebook and twitter, that it's impossible for these things not to intervene. People now a days post everything they do, it can sometimes get out of hand, because some unacceptable things can be discovered by bosses co-workers etc... That is why it is so important for people to put on a media persona, depending where they are, because you just never know.
