Video Game Response

1. If I were to place myself in the video game culrure, I would say I am a rare participant. The most video games I play, are on my nintendo sixty four, and evern at that it's very rare that I play.

2. In general I believe video games to be fun however, I am not very interested in them. Some video games can be violent but like on Ted Talks, it was said that are many video games that sent out good messages and some times even teach the player.

3. Our culture is getting more and more into video games, and sometimes can have the wrong impression on the violent games, and take them seriously. But because, video games have such a big impact on its players, more video games with meaning and skill will be produced and consumed.

Web Site Review

Youtube's site is user friendly, I think the layout is plain and simple, and that the information is short and sweet. The background might be white, but I think it brings out the information more. I don't really think the rule of thirds applies however, the fact that the writing is on the left hand side keeps interest. I like the fact that whenever searching for clips, other options that relate to what your searching pop up to give you new ideas. I can't really find any cons about this site, then againg I don't go on it that often.

Victoria Secret's site is also user friendly, it's bright with colors according to the holidays coming up. With valentine's day coming up, most of their ads have red and pink in them. The rule of thirds is used in the ad at the top of the page. In one hot spot, the girls breasts show to keep interest of the viewer, which is making women seem inferior, this is one thing about the site that I don't like. Other then that I think it is a good site. I can't really think of any other reasons why these sites would be bad, because all site like everything else have pros and cons.

The Trueman Show

1.Have we reached this point in our entertainment "experience"?
Many entertainement experiences are now over exagsagerated, and fake. I don't think that anyone would go to the length of useing a persons life without them knowing as a reality series however, things are becomeing more unrealistic and people are entertained by it.

2.With films like Avitar -using completely created characters -3D animation, is there a point where we cannot believe?
I think in some way we will always be able to tell the difference between real and unreal. The thing is we become allured to fantasy, and fiction because we sometimes like to get away from our mundane lives, and experience something completely new, a life of adventure and thrill.

3.Is Truman's whole world fake or real? Is what Christof says true or is he justifying the world that he created?
Tuman's whole world is fake, because everyone in his life is being paid to act as his parents, wife, friends, neighbors etc... Everyone he comes in contact with works for the Truman Show, and are speaking someone elses words. I believe that what Christof says is only to justify the world he created, because it is impossible for someone to feel absolutely no guilt for doing something like Christof did to Truman.

Impact of social media

1. What is a media persona?

A media persona is when one is conscious of his/her actions, for the reasons that they are afraid of showing their true self, because it can be caught on tape and can be posted anywhere, which can potentially ruin their carrier, relationships or reputation.

2.How does social media fit into the proffesional world?

Social media now plays a big part in the proffesional world, because so many people have facebook and twitter, that it's impossible for these things not to intervene. People now a days post everything they do, it can sometimes get out of hand, because some unacceptable things can be discovered by bosses co-workers etc... That is why it is so important for people to put on a media persona, depending where they are, because you just never know.

Video Doc Rsponse

1. Was there a point where you felt you were overwhelmed and felt like your "image" wasn't enough?

Yes, I have felt overwhelmed about my body image before, it is impossible for someone not to I think. We are constantly surounded by ads of beautiful people, people who we only wish we looked like. The problem is that we are constantly being tricked into thinking that these people are infact beautiful, because they are absolutely perfect. That's when we should think in our right mind, and tell ourselves that no one is perfect, and that we should realise that we are as beautiful as we feel, and not how the rest of world percieves us to be.

2.Is the line blurred between what is "sexy" and the image that you have (or are building) of yourself ?

I think that at 15 years old and older, most teens can distinguish the difference between what is sexy and too revieling, and what is tastful and classy. It depends on the choices that the person makes, because we all know what we should and should not wear. Therefore, yes, the line can be blurred at times, because of what we are exposed to, but it's up to us to create our path. I think the problems lie mostly with 14 year olds and younger, because they are still in the "I want to fit in " stage, hopefully their parents can help them become respectfull and well respected individuals in the long run, because unfortunately their is no stopping the media.

3. Whose role is it to set limits?

Of course advertisers will give any message in order to make money, even if the messages degrate women, or insult certain beliefs however, it is up to the government to aprove of them. In some cases the limits aren't being implemented, because women are still being degrated in video clips and ads, luckely racial, religious ads and others, are not aloud.

4. What advise would you give to a 4 year old about to start her "social life," by going to school next year.

It's hard to know exactly what I would say, because I would want to warn her about the ups and downs on having friends, and how a social statis can start early in school years, with out getting her scared to start school. I wouldn't want to overwhelme her, or make her feel like she should constantly be terrified, which is why I would probably tell her the following: I would reasure her that I love her, and make her feel confortable enough to open up to me about anything. Most of all I would like to make her understand that she is beautiful, and perfect the way she is, and that she should be herself, because that it is the only way that she can make true friends.
